The LA GARD 702 ComboPlus is the upgraded replacement for the industry-leading LA GARD 33E and 39E, which have secured commercial safes, ATMs and vaults worldwide for over 40 years. It is a multi-user electronic safe lock with four main programmable features: Time Delay, Dual Combination, Duress (Silent Alarm), and Remote Lock Out. It uses a 2-digit user ID with a 6–9 digit combination, giving a minimum of 1,000,000 possible permutations. Powered by 2 × 9V batteries housed in the keypad.

Key Features
Time Delay
Set a delay period of 0–99 minutes with a 1–60 minute open window. Prevents instant opening under coercion.
Dual Combination
Requires two authorised users to enter their codes before the lock will open.
Duress (Silent Alarm)
Sends a silent alarm under coercion. Requires an external Alarm Box.
Remote Lock Out
Disable opening remotely when required. Requires an external Alarm Box.
Basic Operation — Opening the Lock
- Press 0 + 1 (your 2-digit user ID)
- Enter your combination (default: 1-2-3-4-5-6)
- Press Enter
ⓘ Valid: 3 short high beeps + 3 green flashes, displays "Lock Open". Invalid: 3 short low beeps + 3 red flashes, displays "Invalid". If Dual Combination is active, a second authorised user must also enter their ID and combination.
Changing Your Combination
⚠️ Always perform with the safe door open. Test the new code 3 times before closing.
- Press # 6 2
- Enter your current ID + combination, press Enter
- Enter your new combination, press Enter
- Re-enter the new combination to confirm, press Enter
User Management (Manager Only)
All programming uses # commands followed by your ID + combination and Enter. Always perform with the safe door open.

Power & Battery
- 2 × 9V Alkaline (Duracell or Energizer recommended) — both batteries required
- Battery life: approximately 1 year
- Low battery warning: repeated beeps during opening + icon on the display
- Non-volatile memory: codes, settings & audit trail retained during battery replacement
- Emergency power: hold a fresh 9V battery against the external contacts on the keypad while entering your code
