User Hierarchy
- User 1 & User 2: Managers (can add, delete, reset users; configure time delay; change security level)
- Users 3–30: Standard access users (28 user slots)
- Super-Code: emergency override code — also used to reset the Manager Code if forgotten
- Factory Reset: returns the lock to original factory settings
Security Levels
- Level 1 (factory default): Access by fingerprint OR password — either one will open the lock
- Level 2: Access by fingerprint AND its bound password — both required to open the lock
- Password length: 10–14 digits

ⓘ Instructions must be completed within 15 seconds, otherwise the system times out and the operation must be restarted.
User Management (Manager Only)
All programming functions are driven by the on-keypad screen display. Always perform with the safe door open. For full step-by-step prompts, refer to the official Operating Instructions PDF (link below). Available functions:
- Set / reset the Manager Code
- Set / reset User Codes and fingerprints
- Delete a single user · Delete ALL users
- Activate / configure Time Delay
- Change security level (Level 1 ↔ Level 2)
- Factory reset (returns lock to default state)
Recommendation: register at least two fingers per user (e.g. both index fingers) to maintain access if one finger is injured.
Wrong Entry Penalty
- 4 consecutive invalid entries triggers a 4-minute lockout
- During lockout, the keypad will not respond to any entries
- Wait for the lockout to clear, then re-enter a valid fingerprint or password
Power & Battery
- Battery: 1 × 9V Alkaline (Duracell or Energizer recommended)
- Battery life: approximately 1 year under normal use
- Static current: 50 µA · Power supply range: DC 4.5V – 12.0V · Low battery threshold: 5.2V
- Low-battery warning displayed on the screen — replace promptly
- Non-volatile memory: registered fingerprints and codes are retained during battery replacement
ⓘ Emergency power (if battery is completely flat): place a fresh 9V battery against the external contact points on the keypad to temporarily power the unit for entry.
Key-Override / Mechanical Override
The BIO Safe Lock is supplied with a Swivel-Bolt as standard. Two override options are available:
- Key-Override (Swivel-Bolt only): 6 pick-resistant levers with restricted profile WAVE key (optional, supplied on request)
- Dead-Bolt lock body option: available, but key-override is NOT available with the Dead-Bolt version
