Everyday Access

  • Standard Entry: Enter your 6-digit combination. Each press is confirmed by an audible beep and a flash of the LED. A double signal indicates the code is correct and the lock is ready.

  • Opening Mechanism: Once the code is validated, you have a 4-second window to rotate the safe’s handle to retract the bolt. If the handle is not turned within this time, the lock will automatically re-secure.

  • Tamper Security: Entering several incorrect codes in a row will trigger a temporary lockout period. During this time, the keypad will be disabled to prevent further unauthorized attempts.

Managing Your Codes

  • Safety First: Always perform code changes or testing while the safe door is open.

  • Changing the Combination: Enter the programming sequence (usually starting with “0” six times), followed by your current code, and then enter your new 6-digit code twice to confirm.

  • System Confirmation: A double beep confirms a successful change. If you hear a long beep, the change was unsuccessful, and the old code remains active.

Power & Maintenance

  • Battery: This model operates on a single 9V Alkaline battery. We highly recommend using premium brands like Duracell or Energizer for consistent power delivery.

  • Low Battery Warning: If the lock emits repeated beeps during opening, the battery is low. The ECL system features non-volatile memory, so your codes are never lost during a battery swap.

  • External Battery Contact: In case of complete battery failure, most ECL keypads feature external contact points to provide emergency power for opening.
