The LA GARD 700 Basic is the upgraded version of the industry leading LG Basic. The LG Basic revolutionised electronic safe locking because for the first time, the highest level of safe lock security was available at an extremely cost-effective price. This allowed safe lock manufacturers to offer high security electronic safe locks for use not only in commercial applications but also to the domestic market.
Accessing the System
-
Standard Entry: Enter your 6-digit combination. Since this model does not have a display, successful entry is confirmed by a double signal (two beeps and two flashes of the LED).
-
Opening the Safe: After entering the valid code, rotate the safe handle to the open position within 4 seconds. If the handle is not turned, the lock will automatically re-secure itself.
-
Wrong Try Penalty: Entering four consecutive invalid codes will initiate a 5-minute lockout period. During this time, the LED will flash at status intervals, and the lock will not respond to any keypresses.
Managing Your Codes
-
Code Capacity: The Basic model supports 2 users (1 Manager and 1 User), making it ideal for straightforward residential or small business use.
-
Changing Codes: Always perform changes with the door open. Use the keypad sequences starting with “0” six times to enter programming mode. Follow the signal patterns carefully to confirm your new 6-digit combination.
Power & Maintenance
-
Battery Requirements: This unit operates on a single 9V Alkaline battery. We recommend high-performance brands like Duracell or Energizer.
-
Low Battery Warning: If you hear repeated beeping during an opening sequence, it is time to replace the battery. The system’s non-volatile memory ensures your codes are never lost during a battery swap.
